I’m heartbroken to leave this review, but I believe it’s important for others to be aware of our experience. We adopted a dog from One Love adoption agency under the assurance that she had been spayed, as it was clearly stated in the adoption contract. However, some time after bringing her home, we discovered that this was not the case. This led to a serious infection that could have been fatal had we not caught it in time through X-rays, which were taken for an unrelated issue.
When we contacted the organization to inform them of this dangerous oversight, they took zero responsibility for the mistake. We were met with indifference and no efforts to address or rectify the situation.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but this level of oversight—especially when it is explicitly mentioned in the adoption paperwork—is unacceptable when dealing with the health and well-being of animals. We trusted the information provided to us and nearly lost our dog as a result. I hope that the organization takes more thorough measures moving forward to ensure that the animals they are adopting out receive the proper care.
While we love our dog and are grateful she is now on the mend, this experience has been traumatic, and I would caution others to carefully verify any health information before adopting.
