I feel so incredibly fortunate to have found this care home for my mom. My mom fell and broke her hip last year, became wheelchair bound and was dealing with a devastating dementia diagnosis. We kept her home as long as we could, and then had to make the incredibly difficult decision to move her to assisted living. We initially moved her to one of the large well-known assisted living homes in the area, and after a few days, ended up having to move her because of some concerning behaviors we saw from staff. We moved her to Grandview Gardens, and there are not enough words to express how grateful we are for the incredible care of my mom received. She arrived confused, constantly pushing her call button, needing lots of special care and attention, waking up multiple times throughout the night and through it all, they treated her with kindness, compassion, and dignity. As her condition continued to decline, they stayed on top of making sure she was comfortable and pain-free. We saw 101 tender, gentle interactions. We saw them singing to her, acting silly to make her laugh, gently brushing her hair and wiping her face, they had to spoon feed her and take care of her toileting and personal hygiene which they did with such care. They were always so mindful of her dignity, they spoke to her with such gentleness and respect, even when things were at their most difficult. The staff was not only attentive to my mom, but they were so kind and compassionate towards us as we were struggling as the end came closer and closer. The entire experience at Grandview Gardens is what I would hope for anyone needing a higher level of care. Respect, dignity, care, and concern, empathy, and compassion were all on display from every staff member at every moment. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
