Blessings to Tammy and her caring staff at Prescott Valley Assisted Living. Our search began as my sister diagnosed with Alzheimer’s was asked after 6 months to leave a previous residential home for being too mobile, being too helpful within the home and thus a potential behavior hazard to the other chair prone residents. The previous residential home had her so over medicated she was failing in her health and abilities. We came across Prescott Valley Assisted living on an exhausting hot day in July thru “ Senior Locators” we had an appointment for a scheduled visit however in our desperation we popped in unannounced. We were greeted by the house manager Tammy who welcomed us as we apologized for the unannounced visit, assuring us what we see is the way this home is run everyday and unannounced is good! We saw residents walking around, talking, staff engaging, staff sitting doing puzzles, redirecting challenging behaviors and cleaning. Instantly we made a connection and knew in that moment this was a safe nurturing place for our loved one. Over the course of time this “home” is family, each and every staff are family as well as the residents you get to know. Special occasions, holidays, birthdays are shared with love and compassion. My sisters doctor would make house calls and medication being reduced balanced my sisters health. Tammy is outstanding and an angel, she makes it her mission to keep us informed, we often watched her one on one with my sister in humor and conversation. Tammy is knowledgeable, trained and experienced in handling difficult behavior as known to Alzheimer/ Dementia persons, and in all facets of senior care. Tammy and staff are well trained. (Yes…my sister had her challenging moments) This home is the best placement for anyone needing to have a loved one cared for. My sister was surrounded with love and compassion during her 14 months time throughout with Tammy and staff and up to her final days. I also want to include the owner Dr. Christopher Z. as an additional God send, he has a calm open communication and promptly replies to any questions. Dr. Z sent us a special resource book“ On Healthy Aging in Arizona” published by the Zambarki Advisory. He is an enthusiastic research advocate in the field of aging. Dr. Z has been there every step comforting and supporting us during our difficult time of loss. My wife and I plan to share information with anyone looking for that special non institutional care for their loved one.
Respectfully Steve and Judy Dominguez
