When my father was living at Oakwood, the care he received was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment he arrived, the caretakers treated him with so much compassion, dignity, and genuine love that it truly felt like a home and a family environment.
Gad, Sophie, and the entire team went above and beyond every single day to make sure my dad was comfortable, safe, happy, and cared for. Knowing he was receiving his medications on time, eating well, and getting help whenever he needed it took an enormous weight off my shoulders. But what meant the most was the human connection they gave him. They didn’t just care for him — they truly cared about him. My dad became very close with his caretakers, and they made him feel valued, seen, and loved.
One of the most special things was that they always welcomed my dad’s dog to come visit every weekend, which brought him so much joy and comfort. Those visits meant everything to him, and the staff embraced it with kindness and warmth. Gad would even surprise my dad with his favorite meals and spend time with him just talking and hanging out like buddies. Those moments made such a difference in my father’s quality of life.
During one of the hardest periods of my life, this team gave me peace of mind knowing my father was not only being taken care of, but truly being loved. I will forever be grateful for the compassion, patience, and humanity they showed my dad and our family.
