Our family’s experience with Pure Essence Living hospice care home just outside of Phoenix was deeply emotional, and ultimately, incredibly meaningful. After my uncle suffered a stroke and was found down in his apartment, our entire family—most of us based in California—had to quickly travel to Arizona to support his recovery and find him the right care. After searching, we chose Pure Essence Living, hopeful that the smaller, more intimate setting would provide the attention and compassion he needed. Initially, it was a difficult transition. My uncle was agitated, mostly nonverbal, and heavily sedated. From a distance, it felt like his needs weren’t fully being understood or met, which was especially hard since we couldn’t be there consistently in person. Everything changed when Moses took over. From the very beginning, Moses demonstrated a level of care and attentiveness that made an immediate difference. He took the time to truly connect with my uncle, even in his limited state, and recognized that his care plan needed to be adjusted. He advocated for the right medications and approach to keep him comfortable—and most importantly, at peace rather than agitated. We saw a noticeable transformation in my uncle after that. And just as importantly, we felt a sense of relief as a family, knowing someone genuinely cared and was paying close attention to his needs. Moses consistently kept us informed, no matter the distance, updating us on every change in my uncle’s condition. Whenever we visited, he welcomed us warmly and created an environment that felt like home during such a difficult time. My uncle was originally given just three to six months to live. Thanks to the thoughtful and compassionate care he received, he lived for nearly a year beyond that prognosis—something we will always be grateful for. When the time came, Moses handled it with the same level of compassion. He called us when my uncle stopped eating and gently let us know it was time. Because of that, we were able to be there with my uncle during his final moments—something that means everything to us. Moses was incredibly supportive, kind, and present through it all. I would confidently recommend Pure Essence Living to any family going through this process—especially knowing that Moses is there. His compassion, attention to detail, and genuine care for his patients truly make all the difference.
