We paid $4k for one month of respite stay for our aunt. We were assured that the other residents were capable of leaving their rooms and interacting with our aunt and each other, yet we NEVER saw anyone else in any common area. Physical activity was crucial to our aunt's recovery (and both the skilled nursing discharge papers and our own pleas made that clear) but she was only.moved from bed to recliner (in fully reclined position) except for meals during her entire stay. We were told medicines were strictly controlled, yet a prescription sleep drug was given mid-day but our aunt was told it was a Tums antacid tablet. When she couldn't chew it, she was brought a cup of water to swallow it. We were told all medicines were put in daily organizers by the owner of the home, yet we found many in bottles when they were shown to us. Our aunt developed severe pneumonia after 3 days and had to be transferred to an acute care hospital, and even when we advised the owner a week later that our aunt would not be returning within the rented month (and we removed all her belongings when the owner told us she had many inquiries for room availability), the owner didn't see fit to offer a partial refund. Dangerous place to put your loved one, and most residents are apparently bed-bound or possibly catatonic - BEWARE!
