We all come into these situations with different experiences, especially when dealing with such a diverse group of people. I first looked at this community back when it was still called Arbor Rose, and at that time I felt it was a decent place — my dad just wasn’t ready yet. Fast forward to now, under the new name Lavender Lane. I stopped in one day to look at the apartment again. Wendy was kind enough to have a resident show me her unit so I could see how the space looked furnished. Even without a kitchen, she had made excellent use of the large layout: an apartment‑sized fridge, queen bed, dresser, sofa, and a baker’s rack holding a microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of other items. It reassured me that the space could work for my dad.
Wendy gave me a price sheet showing $1,100 per month, and I left feeling confident. A couple of days later, after making my decision, I started calling to move forward — but no one ever returned my calls. After about a week of trying, I finally drove down there in person. That’s when Wendy told me they were having phone issues since taking over. She also informed me that the price had gone up to $1,750 per month and that they would not honor the price sheet she had previously given me. She said that was the only sheet they had at the time, so that’s what she handed out. Needless to say, I was not happy.
Still, I decided to give them a second chance and made an appointment to bring my dad to see the apartment. This time, she showed us the only unit available — and it was nothing like the one I had originally seen. It was about half the size, with barely enough room for a bed, a dresser, and maybe a recliner. Had I known that was the unit we’d be viewing, I never would have scheduled the appointment.
Unfortunately, this new company is not making a good first impression. If there is confusion, inconsistency, or misleading information before someone even moves in, it raises serious concerns about what else might be overlooked or hidden. My trust was with Arbor Rose. I cannot say the same for this new management.
